heirloom tomatoes are dece.

i went to whole foods and picked out the ugliest, most discoloured heriloom tomato they had. i made a salad out of it, a cucumber, some fresh dill, and some red wine vinegar and olive oil. yum.

however: i can't imagine how much money you'd have to be making for their price ($2.98/pound) to be worth the corresponding (small) taste difference (hardly even an improvement...just a difference).

nevertheless, yum!

that's why I said to buy em at a farmer's market where it's MUCH cheaper. I was getting em for $1.50 a pound at the height of the season. whole foods has dece produce, but they rip you off.

whole foods just generally sucks for produce, period. I'm telling ya - farmers markets are where it's at. I also belong to a CSA group so I get a box of organics straight from the farm every week.
