Ok, I got some new gear and tried again! Please listen!

Hey guys, I got some new gear and tried out some new techniques I gathered from various people. To me, it still kind of sounds fake and cheap, but I'm still just trying this out.

Its just an improvised guitar riff with a simple drum beat I programmed. Just wanted to test some things out. Let me know what you think, please!

Ps- The bass drums are monotonous.

Well, your missing a bass so no wonder why you think it sounds cheap. Get a bass in there asap! Pitch shifted guitar or midi will do better than no bass.

So if it has bass added it will sound more worthy?

What kind of gear/amps/mics ect are you using?

that kick is ruining my life. bring it down. definitely get some bass guitar in there, too. that alone will make a world of difference and will help the guitars from sounding too thin.

I'm using,

Line 6 Pod Farm for guitars.

Fruity Loops with Despised Icons drum samples.

and..

Mixcraft.

Yanno, just trying recording out. Obviously I don't know what I am doing.

lol, I think Arron was talking about me (I have been lurking the sneap forums for years. I rarely post)

Another Thing I would do is edit your velocities in fruity loops to make the drums sound a little more "less robotic".

Also down the road you might want to consider getting Steven Slate Samples/Toontrack Superior drummer for better drum sounds ect.

But most importantly get some bass in that mix.
