Ok, I just got the Khanate last night.

Yeah, I just got it last week and was suitably devastated then! I've been listening to it repeatedly (plus some Burning Witch and Sunn0))), for comparison) with the notion I might write up a review for Mr. Indie Workshop.

Oh, Eric, you should IM me and check out my buddy icon. It only took me like fifteen minutes to make but I think it turned out well.

I would say, just enjoy it. The higher you place your expectations, the more likely you are not to be fulfilled. Regarding his new album, Axl Rose was quoted on GnR's own website as saying, very smartly:

If you're waiting...don't. Live your life. That's your responsibility not mine. If it were not to happen you won't have missed a thing. If in fact it does you might get something that works for you, in the end you could win on this either way. But if you're really into waiting try holding your breath for Jesus cause I hear the payoff may be that much greater.

His entire commentary is rather brilliant, in fact. Anyway, I know that's not really the answer you wanted. The Khanate does rule.

Actually, when I first heard about it, I didn't expect to like it at all. Then I heard you guys talk about it more, and listened to a track & kinda dug it, so I figured I'd give it a shot. I'm still not expecting to LOVE it, so maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised. Or am I second guessing too much now, and ruining any hopes I ever had to actually like it... too much thinking. BAH.

I do, however, think i'll wait to listen to it in the car tonight so I can blast it.
