OK internet tough guys, listen up

I went to a "hardcore" show a week ago. I didn't know how it was gonna be. Man, that shit is so fuckin gay.!! That shit aint hardcore. REAL hardcore was back in the day, SIck of it all, gorilla biscuits, and black flag, minor threat. man this new headbangers ball infested shit sucks !! pretty much every "pit" that night was a bunch of queers kick stepping and doing "windmills". That shit sucks and it is stupid.

This is why I stay out of the pit. I never understood why anyone would enjoy getting their ass kicked to a beat! The biggest problem is their are no rules. If someone would come up with a list of things that are acceptable or not, maybe we wouldn't be having these problems.

you missed my point, entirely

you could not like getting hit, you could be all masochistic and let being hit give you a huge erection

i could give a fuck either way

just stop pretending like you're gonna do something about it or you would've done something about it.

stop pretending and DO SOMETHING.

whining about it on the interweb afterwards is GAY GAY GAY GAY

I'll kick your ass.

A guy complaining about people whining on the Internet...is doing exactly that.

Man, this place sure isn't what it used to be...so very sad.

I love DRI.
Fuck all this new-wave of dancing bullshit

DRI is one of my all time fav bands. The early Punk/Hardcore shit as well as the more "Metal" sounding stuff.

I'll have to disagree with calling this style of dancing new though. I remember the first time I seen kids dancing like that was back in 96 at a Sick of it All, Farenheight 451, The Six and Violence show in the South Bronx. Mountain Dew was sponsering some skate comp at Malolly Park, a block away from Yankee stadium. It was crazy seeing a Hardcore show in the middle of the ghetto, but it was great. Tons of kids dancing hard, free Mountain Dew, no fights, no bitching, great music.

I like this "new style." I've seen some of these kids run up walls and jump off into crazy kicks, and all kinds of other sick feats pulled off. I dont see why so many tr00 people cry about it.

I didn't mean new. I ment new-wave of hardcore. I also have been seeing this dancing since back in like 96/97 when I first started going to shows. But it IS new-wave. It's nothing like how people danced to hardcore back in the 80s. Pile-ons and finger pointing is the way to go!

What I ment by the karate comment was how all the fucking hardcore kids kick their legs around and windmill their arms like they're taking karate lessons in the pit.

DRI was not about that. They were about circle pits. Fuck all this new-wave of dancing bullshit. Just go counter-clockwise, pump your fists, and bang your heads!
DRI pits were brutal back in the day. in 86 when I saw them play with thrax guys were coming out of the pits with bloodied heads. the same thing happened when COC was on stage.

The worst were going to gigs where sui bands played with skinhead bands - total gang fights.

I remember when guys went clockwise - a lot sui's did this, so we used to stick the term sui on anyone going clockwise.

Ah fuck I'm old. I'll shut up and get back to work.

See, I like being in the pit, but when fuckers try to start shit by windmilling and purposly try to hurt others, well, that's just not cool. I try to look out for those around me when I'm in the pit! we can all thrash together ya know, we don't have to go home all brused and broken. I find that my moshing experiences have been quite good, I've seen a girl get her glasses knocked off and lost, the singer from Fishbone landed on my Head (that was funny) and I got to help catch Bif Naked (Though she was not naked :() so, Keep those around you safe and enjoy music. I mean, we're all there for the same reason, not to rage upon each other.

I've not been in a DRI pit, and I guess I'm Glad, I've had far too much Brain Trauma already! :)

Hell yea. First time I seen 'em was around 89 on the Thrash Zone tour at Streets in New Rochelle, NY. Sick of it All and Nasty Savage opened. Still to this day one of the most violent shows I've ever attended.

Nasty Savage rings a bell.

The DRI show I saw was after the Dealing With It album came out.

IYHO - Should I check out OverhandRight?
Would like to add new to my collection. Last week I re-stocked some old GBH, Slayer and Motorhead. And I'm going to add more old stuff soon.

Nasty Savage was a Thrash band from FL back in the day. Pretty damn good too. I'm pretty sure they've been inactive for a while, but they have a few releases out worth a listen.

As for OHR, I'm the bassist, so my opinion is biased. We have 3 songs for free download on the site link in my sig.

You know I think I have Nasty Savage on a Metal Massacre compilation somewhere.

Anyway I will check out your tunes on your web site.

Earlier this year I went to Social D and the pit had great manners. There was a little girl that was like 12 or something in the pit the whole time! Whenever someone would fall down people would rush to block and help them up. It was a great time.

I Love Social Distortion, Their cover or Ring of Fire, man, I'm Gonna Listen to that now!! :) Thanks fer the Idea!!

Ya Gots to help yer friends out in the pit, and when in the Pit, Everyone should be yer friend!! Come on over to my side of the pit ladies, Vinnie Will protect ya! haha! :D
