no but seriously, the roots of half those bands described are hardly metal, but rather springing from hardcore or other genres. (Jesu is a slight technicality, coming from the metal-tinged industrial act Godflesh.)

I like it too. It could be called ITOUCHKIDZ and I'd still like it. Genres are incredibly silly things.

Jesu is probably my favorite band currently.

for that post Neurosis sound my favorite records are Isis - Oceanic, and Cult of Luna - The Beyond...and I'd like to say that the world can do without about 85 % of bands that started playing this style once hydrahead and isis blew up.

one exception however, a great Welsh band called Taint (awesome name)
