Oktava MK012

Hi
I have to test a pair of Oktava mk012 (condenser).
I connected them into my firepod, I activated the phantom power, I raised the gain of the pres (maxed)...but there are no signals. In my daw the levels don't move at all....
Broken mics? Can I do some different test?
It's very strange...

p.s.
I tested them with a xlr-jack cable....is it right? Should I use a xlr-xlr cable?

i don't know the firepod but i guess you just have phantom power on a xlr.
so you should connect the mics to a xlr jack and everything will be fine!!!:Smokin:

You should be using XLR-XLR cables with mics as a rule of thumb. If you're just going XLR-TRS, the mic probably isn't being supplied with the phantom power it needs.

lol, that's why you aren't getting a signal. XLR-XLR for phantom power.

I'm a mics noob
...If I tried the mics with a jack input and 48v ..can I have damaged them? I hope no... :\

If you're just going XLR-TRS, the mic probably isn't being supplied with the phantom power it needs.

I can be I dont know about the firepod but things like the Metric Halo mobile I/O supply phantom down a TRS. If your using a TS jack then no chance.

Firepod can't do that.

it may be that the xlr>jack is unbalanced
using a balanced cable, it may work
