Old Dio interview

Dio will play here in July. So unless something strange happening I'll be involved again with the local organization, who knows I may even get to know the man ;)

Wow!! That sounds great. I hear he is very friendly and down to earth.

Best live show I did see was Dio two years ago.:kickass:
He is still awsom singer.

I saw him back in 2002 with Scorpions and Deep Purple, it didn't impressed me much but the man obviously had the pipes. I expect to check this one more throughly.

NP: Avalanch - 'Vientos Del Sur'

Dude, I saw him with them too! It was too bad I missed nearly all of his show, my mom nearly chopped off her finger and I was late to the concert trying to stop the bleeding. Deep Purple and Scorpions still rocked though, gonna see Scorps in July.

You like Avalanch too, man, I just bought an album not so long ago at a swap meet, great stuff, although their new album is a bit soft for me. Have you heard of a band called "Angeles del Infierno"? Great heavy metal, I can't seem to find anything in English about them though.

I like Avalanch first three albums a lot. The first one comes in both English and Spanish versions as double CD. The second and third in Spanish only. The guitar player decided to kick out some of the members (including the drummer who was the only original member of the band from the demo days) and change the band style to a more melodic radio-friendly-pop oriented rock. They played here but I wasn't intersted in seeing them, they are going to play againa and maybe I'll help with the organization but I don't care about the music anymore.

Angeles del Infierno was a seminal metal band form Spain, they look, played and even recorded in the same studio as Judas Priest. Nevertheless they never went into my radar and still they don't.

For Spanish bands I prefer old Baron Rojo, Azrael, old Obus and Panzer. Have to check more throughly Warcry, Muro and maybe Tierra Santa.

NP: Blackmore's Night - 'Village Lanterne'

I also found "We Rock" video from his Pinkpop performance! :headbang:

Yet another kick ass video! :headbang: It's cool to see Viv in there. Dio's vox are much better 20+ years ago and appear to be much more effortless for him. Age. :erk: He changed up the lyrics a bit here and there too. Really cool to be able to hop into the time machine.

Me three!!! That's the show I got Backstage to and have been in my own little heaven since.:saint: Great show, lineup, great party!

Deep Purple is coming in August and no clue who'll be opening...I of course, am still hoping, wishing and praying for the Scorps but it's not looking good w/their schedule.

They're playing in a festival with Alice Cooper and Status Quo, in Belgium. Maybe you'll be there Carnut, uh? :D ;)

That is very cool !!! If you get to meet the band, tell Alica Cooper's guitarist "hello from Alabama." Damon Johnson is Alice's guitarist. He used to be the singer/lead guitarist for Brother Cane. He is from Alabama (the state I live in.) We mostly only have famous country artists from here, not too many rock artists (though that seems to be changing with American Idol ala Bo Bice, Ruben Stuart and Taylor Hicks all from Alabama.)
Damon is a badass guitarist, so I am sure Cooper will sound great. Ronnie always sounds great.....

Yeah, Alice often hires (good) guitar players who can also sing :)

As for Dio, Craig Goldy is back in the fold, Doug Aldrich has chosen to stick with Whitesnake.
