Old Strings

ok My prob is I cant afford new Bass Strings Bills and what not are preventing me from buying new ones I was wondering if anybody knew any ways of reviving old strings, They are not Broken just old and Dirty I heard once that Nikki Sixx of Motley Crue once had to Boil his strings the night before they went into the studio to record to fast for love Any suggestions will be greatly appreceated

Boil them or rub them down with rubbing alcohol, just make sure you don't get any on an unfinished fretboard.

Yeah dude, just whenever they start feeling nasty, loosen them, and rub them down with some alcohol on a cloth, and that really helps, or if you want the full effect, boil them.
