The Cleveland House of Blues Show was unbelievable!!

Therion was really interesting and I was blown away by Caffery's band- allstar line-up of members from Doro, Savatage and Metal Church.

Ripper and Oliva are in rare form, don't miss it if you are anywhere near PA!!

Details please. I used to be a huge Savatage fan from Sirens through Dead Winter Dead. Who from Savatage was in Caffery's band? I heard the Jon Olivas Pain album and thought it was alright, but nothing like early Savatage.

Sorry to get back to you so late!!

I haven't picked up Oliva's solo stuff yet but from what I heard live it's more of the theatrical, keyboard centered 'tage era sound. Similar to Morpheine Child off of Poets. Excellent but not up there with old 'tage. You can never recreate that sound without Criss imo.

Caffery's band was fantastic. Jeff Plate on drums, Ira Black from Vicious Rumours on Guitar, the bassist from Doro and the guy playing keys was from a prog band called October Thorns. I really dug the set, much better than what I had anticipated from listening to the CDs.

Ripper's band was outrageous! Very heavy and cool to talk to after the show.

Hope to see them next spring!

Thanks for the info. I kno Jeff Plate played drums for Savatage since Dead Winter Dead, I belive. What's the name of Ripper's band by the way?

ripper's band is Beyond Fear and they SMOKE!! Great players.
