Online Jam Tracks

I have been looking for these too, and I found very little in terms of live guitar or drum recordings. You can always check out Total guitar magazine, they can supply some good backing tracks. Otherwise you can use Guitarpro to create guitar, bass, etc... backing tracks to virtually any tabbed song.

Guitar Pro :erk:

I would prefer some real drums recorded by someone. Nice tempos..Its always fun to emprovise on them. No chords , no scales. Just rythm and solo :kickass:

I have some tracks my old teacher gave to me, but they sort of wore thin. Some nice cliche metal/rock stuff would be cool.

Playing to just rhythm is a bit odd. At least playing over melodies/chords makes you sit within certain modes.. it's more challenging that way.

My advice? Record some tracks by yourself using a metronome or drum track. The best to do this is with Audacity imo, very easy to use, that is if you have a USB interface to record on the computer. Cheers

If you have Windows XP you already have it. The Microsoft General MIDI Wavetable Synth sounds have one in there.

In which folder? And my XP is home edition. Hope it does not require pro.

^he probably meant how to use it ;) and outside of cubase and guitar pro (which have a very easy-to-use metronomes) i don't know... i suppose there are standalone metronome programs out there, freeware maybe

Hi Guys,
I run a website - www.JamTracksForGuitar.com , which has both some metal/hard rock jam tracks and metal drum-only tracks (including some challenging stuff in odd time signatures).

Let me know what you think. I am also talking video submissions of people jamming along to the tracks to feature on the website and youtube channel so get in touch if you come up with anything cool.

Thanks
