I was just being regaled with stories about this GameCube game last night. Apparently, the entire game is ripped straight from Lovecraft, and has a Sanity meter and everything. The coolest thing, though, is that as you go insane the game begins to fuck with you. Yeah, it fucks with your character, in DARK CORNERS OF THE EARTH fashion, but it also fucks with YOU. My friend Jon was telling me how he was in the middle of a firefight, trying to flee (you flee from everything in that game...LOVECRAFT AGAIN!), and then suddenly the green TV volume bar appeared on his screen and muted the game. He was like 'fuck!' and started hunting around for the remote, thinking he was sitting on it, trying to run, feeling around with one hand, before he realised that IT WAS AN INSANITY EFFECT.
How cool is that?
