OOPS! -- someone bought Behringer....

A buddy of mine went against my advice and bought a Behringer Eurorack for his practice PA. D'oh!!! Right now he's only running vocals through it. It'll work fine for say 10 minutes then all of a sudden the volume cuts way down, maybe 1/2 as loud as it should be. The only solution he's found is to unplug the mic cable out and then back into the XLR jack. Then the sound usually comes back.

Any idea what might be causing this problem?

Have him return it immediately. He can either get a replacement or store credit. I would suggest store credit, save up a couple hundred bones and get a better quality P.A. If he's reluctant to do so, just get a replacement unit. This is why most Behringer stuff is basically taboo...you simply just can't trust their work.
