I meant for high gain stuff I played a marshall 2x12 at thomann the other day (I think it was an open back). And it sounded pretty awesome. Didn't have as much low end "muddines" going as the other cabs I played that day

Do not like for high gain. Open-back cabs have looser bass response and are much less punchy than closed-backs. An open-back will fill the room better, though, and you can get some interesting sounds micing the back of the cab, but I've yet to try an open-back cab that I preferred over an equal-quality closed-back for high gain tones.

heard it mic´d through a PA 2 weeks ago, when we were setting up all the gear with our band´s soundguy. just as good as any other solid cab for gainy stuff, with much better clean sound
