Vertebrae and Watershed account for two of my favorite albums last year. This will be quite a tour.

Huge Opeth fan here. Fairly new to metal. Will raise the dead to see Opeth in 09 (again) In the mean time, I need to study up on Enslaved. Maybe check out the Vertebrae cd. Thanks for the fyi Electricwiz.

Vertebrae is less accessible than some of the previous ones, but still awesome. The Enslaved records all take a few listens to, "get." I'd start with Ruun - it's the most Opeth-like in texture, and so might appeal to you faster.
