Opeth is playing tonight in Ankkarock, FINLAND!!

They'll start to play at local time 21.00, so in 9 and half hours. Before them plays a local finnish band Elokerjuu. It would be interesting to know what Opeth thinks about that band!

And please report a setlist once you get home from there :kickass:

Cool, my brother's girlfriend is there to see that "elokerjuu" (Lauri Tähkä & Elonkerjuu), I hope she saw the Opeth show also!

Fucking great gig, although it was freezing cold and it was drizzling.
Setlist (iirc):

Demon of the Fall
The Baying of the Hounds
Master's Apprentices
To Rid the Disease
Wreath (\m/)
Heir Apparent
--encore--
The Drapery Falls

Funny thing was when we had shouted Opeth back for encore, they started playing Bleak. After some 20 seconds playing it they suddenly stopped and Mikael said "maybe at Cable Factory". :D They are playing in the place called Cable Factory next December here in Finland.

Hell, yes!
If I get to see Bleak here in december I will be extremely happy!

When they played at Metalcamp in Slovenia this year they started to jam on the beginning of Lotus Eater and then Mike pointed out that they didn't have the time to rehearse more new songs yet because of the chicken pox and Mendez becoming father...

I want to see them at Cable Factory in december soooo bad. I think I'll have to go, maybe I'll get one of my asshole friends to come too. (Who don't really understand music).

I heard that Åkerfeldt spoke Swedish. And lots of strange things too. But very nice set. It's still pretty weird that they don't play more from the new record.

Yes, he talked most of his speaks in Swedish, which was a bit annoying since we Finns kinda suck at Swedish, even though it's our official language together with Finnish. Hopefully he talks English at Cable Factory.

Finns feel bitterness towards the Swedish, because the Swedes don't have to live next to Russia* :D

But seriously, the thing is, even though only about 5% of Finns speak Swedish as their mother tongue, EVERYONE has to learn it at school...to some degree at least.
I don't really understand why most Finns whine about it though, Swedish is one of the easiest languages in the world - in terms of grammar at least. And if you speak some other Germanic language, you won't have problems with pronunciation either. But I guess there's the problem, Finnish isn't a Germanic language and Finns have a hard time learning a language they'll hardly ever need to use

*Some trivia: Finland has the biggest artillery in Western Europe - I wonder why

it seemed that he kept speaking swedish only cuz he saw that the crowd response in Swedish... also when people were shouting "mera! mera!" LOL

I remember he tried the same thing in Ruisrock one month ago but then he switched back to English very fast... donno...
though I don't speak Swedish it was still funny especially when he said that Sweden is better with music and hockey LOL

Does any body know where to find the pictures that were taken by the photographers at the beginning of the gig I asked one photographer, who considered me to be an attraction, (cuz I look so different than the Finns and especially cuz I was waving my home country's flag, Israel) and he said that the photos will be in a magazine called fatser of fazer could barely hear him

I found only one picture so far (thanks to a new friend I met there who knew me from the forum), I look so damn evil hehehhee :heh:
