Opeth have promised to release a shit album by 2004. "We're working on it," says frontman Mikael Akerfeldt, "I think the next couple of records will be very good, but after that hopefully we'll be disappointing a lot of fans. I'm really into 'Cold Lake' and 'Turbo' right now, those baffling snapshots of a band past their prime in desperate creative demise, it's really inspiring. So far pretty much everyone's really llike our stuff, but it'd be nice to go totally off the boil with some insipid, contrived sell-out piece of shit. Hopefully Opeth should be ready for utter decline dometime around 2004." In the meantime, Opeth's as yet untitled sixth album will come with a free CD-ROM outlining an effective plan for world peace and a solution for the growing global energy crisis...
