Opeth - Porcelain Hear Official Video

Finally a video that actually fits Opeth's music (mostly), with Victorian imagery, etc. Extra points for the Goth babes, although the "story" here makes no sense so it comes off as gimmicky. Maybe future Opeth video directors should ask Mikael what the song is actually about and make a video that ties in with the lyrics or at least the album's overall concept in a more meaningful way. I do love the way it was shot, though...

Anyone else notice the strong similarities to "The Grand Conjuration" and "To Rid The Disease" in this song? ;)

The first vocals remind me of TRTD and about 6 minutes through the actual song remind me of GC.

They pulled a smarter Nickelback and almost wrote the same song over again, except they combined 2 songs instead of just cloning one. I didn't like this song at first because of that - but now it's grown on me and has become one of my favorite Opeth tracks!

Yeah, for sure. I like the track a lot too, the video version sucks though. Can't wait for this record...I wasn't the biggest fan of the last one but from the 2 tracks they've released, this one is already has tons of promise.

HOLY SHIT... I didn't realize this 'til I just re-listened to it. LOL

Honestly, I had to watch this 4 times. Now I like it a lot. Been a while since I actually gave this a listen. I may have to go and get the rest!

I Think the video is AWESOME! i just hate it when they cut the song short to suit the video like "the Grand Conjuration" takes away from the music imo

I quite dislike the video. Doesn't seem highly relevant to what the song is doing, plus the band playing shots look decidedly uncool. Was really hoping for a more vivid scene with the band/Mike playing solo. Plus the end 'aaaaah' sequence is totally ruined by the expressions on the actors' faces. I almost wish they'd stop making videos altogether, as it tends to ruin their songs for me.

yep. i'm trying to make myself forget i ever saw this :erk:

Wow, that video is total shit. I like the music though, indeed it does sound more promising than Ghost Reveries was. GR had it's moments though, I will say.
