Yeah it could be darker but I think Opeth's music alot alot to do with "beauty" and dynamics; that's the side I wanted to show with that wallpaper.

I mean I'm getting pretty tired of those dark morbid artworks I made in the past...

I think the watercolor/amost-mosaic effect adds a really nice touch.

Plus I completely agree that the dark, gloomy stuff is getting old and corny.

I think it kicks ass, man... I think Opeth is very much about the interplay between light and dark... Dark would be obvious, but I think what you've done shows creativity and originality and insight into the nature of the music. I'm downloading it.

Thanks to all of you for your kind comments, I appreciate it.

Basicly, I played with some filters in photoshop to capture the feel of a "painting". I also played with the channels, levels, brightness/contrasts, saturation, opacity and variations to reach the colors tones I wanted...

Nothing complicated really.

Anyone who has Photoshop could do that actually, just choosing some random filters until you've reached a nice result

Technicalities is about knowledge [mostly], emotion about soul [mostly].

If you're into technical stuff, I suggest the abstract wallpaper section of deviantart. You'll know what technical skills is all about.
Some people there are so damn skillful, I mean waayyyyy more than I am.
