Funny as it likes to be, Life has extended me the opportunity to become employed by the Orange County Sherriff's Department. I'm totally not familiar with the area so I was wondering if any of you could give me some insight as to the good or bad areas to live.

Or I could go the exciting route and just wing it!

:)

I used to work in the area... did time at the Magic Kingdom...EEEK... But that was 10 years ago and things sure seem to have changed. I don't venture behind the Orange Curtain too often, but I do know that Anaheim is a heck of a lot better as a place to live than Tustin or Santa Ana... Again, that may have changed in the 10 years...

Lived in OC most of my life and still do. I find the coastal areas more enjoyable, but they come with a price tag. The more inland you go, the more warm it gets, especially in summer. Traffic can get nasty too, consider a place close to your work to avoid it. Here's a cool link I look at for checking traffic (24-7):

Irvine has a lot of new building going on with all the new city fixin's to go with it, something to consider if that's what you want. Give more info of what you're looking for and we can give more tips.

Very true. I moved from Tustin to Costa Mesa last year. The ocean breeze makes a huge difference.

Well, I've been up here in green hippy hell for almost 5 years now and I now consider 70 degrees to be hot. I'm pretty sure I am gonna be hating life till I get acclimatised reguardless.

At least I always preferred being hot over cold!
