Origin-Informis Infinitas Inhumanitas snare sound

This album is in normal rotate in my car or home stereo and I've come to love John's snare sound. I like how it fits well with the intensity of the songs, smooth, round, and I like how you can hear the ping and ring sometimes. Wasn't sure if anyone else enjoyed the sound or knew how to go about getting the sound, aside from a tight, consistent drummer. (since a lot of the extreme, fast death metal sometimes contain a very sample heavy snare)

Using a metal snare will help. Tune the drum tight as well. I like it with Origin.

I thought he used a trigger on that album for the snare/bass drum, I am sure the bass is, but I am not 100% on the snare so don't flame me if I am wrong
