I wish they would have played something else besides Demon for the encore though. That's getting old. I thought it would be either that or Deliverance, Blackwater Park, or the Leper Affinity. I think any of those would have been way better. There was a really annoying kid with a mohawk and I wanted to slit his throat. I was hanging around to talk to Opeth after the show, but I ended up having to take my friend home (he had to get up at 5am today). When I got back, only Peter and Mendez were still hanging around and they were about to leave. Still, I got my Lamentations signed by both of them and I got a picture with Peter which this lady will hopefully email to me!
I'm so pissed I didn't go. even moreso now. they played No Quarter during UTWM? I hope someone recorded that show.opeth8 said:This was a great show. I was at the front of the balcony upstairs & the sound was perfect. People of Orlando are lucky to have a venue like this. When Opeth visits my area they usually play at the terrible Palladium. The HoB was modern & had lots of great viewing spots. They also had lots of bars & bathrooms with a guy who gives you soap & towels to dry up. Yes it was very fancy. I almost forgot this was a metal show. I still can't believe how nice this place was. We also showed up a few hours before the show & ate at the restaurant. We were given a skip the line pass & we ended up being about 15th in line to get in. Another great thing was the bar right next to the line.
Under The Weeping Moon was the musical highlight of the night. It was so nice to hear an Orchid track !
They also threw in a little Zeppelin "No Quarter" which was cool.
After the show we waited for an hour or two to meet the band. 1st I met and got some auto's from a couple of the Dark Tranquility dudes. They were pretty cool.
A little later I finally got my chance to meet Martin, then Mike & finally Peter. They were all really cool & signed my ticket stub. I also got a bunch of pics with them all which hopefully the very nice lady frugihoyi mentioned will send me. My women & I must have gotten 10 pictures with them. They were as advertised very friendly & talked with us for a while. This topped off what was an awesome night for me.
I can't wait to see them again. If they visit the HoB next time, I'll probably make the trip again.
