I got Leopard yesterday, and I put it on my laptop...its fucking sick...I love it. But I haven't put it on my Pro Tools rig yet because I'm not sure if its compatible or not....anyone know?

Thats pretty unsurprising, but usually you can stop that with the prebinding script fix they made! Or is it just no use whatsoever on 10.5

That's a good question! Leopard is a complete re-write though so I wouldn't be surprised if it idoesn't work. It's the First REAL 64-bit OS for Mac. It'll also no longer have the ram limitation that OSX forced on applications...which means PT will now be able to use all your ram, instead of 2 gigs only.

Leopard is not a complete rewrite, it's just a point release, although there obviously a lot of changes under the hood. Pro Tools is the only app I've heard of that breaks like this. Digidesign historically has problems with their software breaking after OS updates, when no one else has these problems. I really don't get what their deal is.

That sucks to hear...I was actually thinking of switching from PC to a Macbook Pro soon.
so? a PT update that will run under Leopard is on the way... it's not like they think they can just sit around and do nothing to fix the problem.... this is pretty normal for PT and OS updates.... they always sort it out. there's some news about it on the Digidesign Website.
