oscar nominations '09

come on man, ben button's just another contrived oscar dry hump, i'm so sick of these fucking sledgehammer fairy tales, all anti-intellectual wives tale sentimental wisdom. i mean i'm glad i'm not the only one who realised after hurricane katrina (yeah right) that time is fleeting and precious, but i sure don't appreciate you wasting three hours of said time telling me that over and over again in big fuck-off brush strokes.

i didn't totally hate it mind you, cinematography was fine and i liked a few of the romance parts. it's a shame that brad pitt didn't become a giant baby at the end and then get it on with his own budding daughter, then it would've been my number 1 for the year.

I've only heard of Slumdog Millionaire. That's because I'm a huge fan of Danny Boyle. However, from what I've heard about this movie, it doesn't sound that appealing. Some of his film choices to work with lately have been kinda odd. I prefer it when he was doing small indie films like Shallow Grave and Trainspotting.

All these new movies seem to be rather pathetic to me. I liked The Dark knight but felt it was an anti-climax, or I cannot remember the ending, or I was to busy thinking, 'He's now dead, tut tut.'
It could be something to do with the writers strike, if all the good scripters bailed...

Dark Knight was too loud, long and overblown, and I had a hard time following what was going on. I was watching without distractions and yet was distracted a lot. Perhaps it's because of the editing as well, I don't quite remeber now. Maybe I should give it another chance, athough superhero films aren't really my thing.

Pretty much exactly how I feel about it. I really don't get what all the fuss was about.

I had no trouble following what was going on, tbh.
