I haven't purchased the CD yet. I saw the new video on Headbangers Ball and thought it sucked. The video sucked and the song sucked as well. Does anyone have the album? If so is it worth the purchase price?

Personally, I like it alot. I've been listening to it for about a month now. It did have to grow on me though. Conversely, I know a lot of people who hate it. Though not hugely intellectual, the song writing is a lot more mature than the last two albums Glenn wrote for Owens to sing. As a side note they give a nod to a lot of past songs, incorporating their titles into the lyrics of the songs here. Like The Sentinel, Painkiller, Under Blood Red Skies, Ram it Down, etc.

Suprisingly, my favorite song on the album is the ballad, Angel. Makes ya just wanna grab someone and cuddle :loco:

I don’t know about the new Judas Priest, but I can tell you that when the prior Priest had that other singer, man I heard some sound samples and it really sucked; although, the guitars were precise and crunchy the vocals killed the songs…

Hmmmm.....I've been very curious about this new one too! I gotta go find it! I always think it's kinda queer when bands do this type of referencing but I won't make judgement on this one until I have a listen first. It's like when those bands who have been dormant for ages make a comeback and have to rehash their old material in their new stuff to remind you who they were/are. Surely this can't be the case with Priest! I Looooooooooove Priest!!!! :worship:

They only make verbal reference in the lyrics to previous song titles, no recycled lyrics. It hit the streets tomorrow for those interested. This stuff is better than what Glenn wrote for Owens to sing. I thought Tim did the old stuff very, very well, but didn't care much for the two studio albums with him. Conversely I love his recent stuff with Iced Earth and hope he hangs out to do more with them. Glorious Burden is a very cool album.

I picked up a legitimate copy of this today. Interesting packaging. This is one of the new dual discs. One side is the audio CD like any othe CD. The other side is a DVD with a reunion interview, 7 live videos and the whole album in high res audio. They're making a push to have the best of both worlds discs take hold. Kind of a nifty idea. I've seen some that the DVD side has a 5.1 mix of the album on the CD side. That would be very cool! No more buying extra discs! :D

I haven't heard it yet myself but one of my friends that's a HUGE Priest fan said it sucked. He was totally disappointed. But hey, everyone has their own opinion.

Halford's last solo project also had references to his past... the song (in Halfords own way) made references to Priest, Fight, Two, and it also made mention of reliving the past (I think... gotta go dig it out again to be sure). It was obvious that he wanted Priest back as it was for a long time... and they finally worked it all out. Besides, they've always had songs with cheezy lyrics sometimes... it was part of who they are! :worship:
