OT: Nuno Bettencourt appreciation thread

There's a new Extreme album coming out, too! I'm so there!!!

I'm a huge Nuno fan, he's one of the people who inspired me to play the guitar. I saw him play a few years ago with his former band Population 1 (who basically became Dramagods.) It was so weird because nobody was into it in Santa Barbara except for me. People ignored his band, it was fucking blasphemy. He was fucking shredding the whole time, and his vocals are top notch as well.

After the set, nobody came up to him, so I jumped at the chance to say hey and let him know how he inspired me to pick up the guitar in 1991. He was totally cool, very humble down to earth guy.

lol, I actually dig Extreme's funky catchiness, man.

Im not one for Washburns at any rate... but, having never played a Nuno axe... they look alright, save for those shit headstocks, lol

Just saw them last night in NY, awsone show

NUNO HAS THESE NEW CUSTOM AMPS !!! it sounded awsome, i dont know who makes his amps... but it looked like his sounds came from a boss multi effects...

Not sure how accurate this info is but according to this web page the custom amps are Randall's he's been using through 2008

Apparently he is also using Boss GT-8 for FX

Back in the day I know he used a Boss ME-6 for FX for definite.

not sure what amps he uses but the tone on the new cd is even better than his ada mp1 days in the 80s which i thought were awesome particularly on III sides.

then again i bet most players wouldn't know what to do with that tone. it's all in the hands for him i think.

i saw Extreme live in '93. they opened for Bon Jovi. i thought they were an awesome live band. Nuno played Midnight Express too. just sitting on a stool with an acoustic to start off his solo. sick, sick, sick! what an incredible guitar player.
