OT: Prog Power UK 2006

Prog Power in the UK at last!

Threshold, Therion and the superb Orphaned Land are playing. I got my ticket today

Two bands slots still unconfirmed. I have this crazy dream where they book Symphony X and Circus Maximus.

Anyone from here going? I think I saw Silent Song on the PPUK forum?

where/when is it? i dont really know any of those bands apart from threshold though.

Orphaned Land are progressive metal with both clean and death vocals. I dislike most death vocals, but Orphaned Land are something else. They put out an album called Mabool last year, which is a progressive masterpiece.
Therion are along a similar line to Orphaned Land and are probably more widely known. I've only started getting into them recently, and they are indeed an excellent band, but OL are flawless.
Firewind are sort of heavy power metal. It's good, but nothing particularly new.
I can't comment on Freedom Call because I haven't heard anything by them.

i'll def try to be there! love orphaned land, and like therion and threshold quite a bit.

I hope to be there mostly for Threshold as I haven't heard any of the other bands music yet. Maybe speak to some of you there, if I come here more regular to get to know you better.
