I am looking for a pair of Small diaphragm condensers since i have none as of now, and i need some ones that not only rock on drums but also on acoustic instruments and other things... My room isn't that bright. I am on a budget.. i can spend about 400 or less. Ive heard alot of things about Oktavas and Rode's on here... are there other really good ones around that price?

Oktava mk012 or Rode NT5... thats about it, I believe. Anything else is throwing your money in the trashcan... lol.
 
+1 on the nt5s.if you can stretch your budget, peluso make a stereo SDC pair for about $700 street i think.
 
Audio-Technica ATM450's - $400-440
Studio Projects C4's - $400

I like these on drum OH better than the Rode or Oktavas. YMMV.
 
oh yeah, ive heard alot of good things about the AT 4050s, they seem to be amazing bang per buck.
 
I have a pair of ATM450's and they are really, really nice (and versatile) for the dough. They look cool, too.
