Paradise Lost

While listening to Murder (Katatonia-Brave Murder Day album), there is one thing that I notice directly. Being the resemblance to old Paradise Lost (Gothic/ Lost Paradise). The lead guitar sound is almost a copy, also a few of these small guitar bits (wouldn't call them riffs..) could have been written by Gregor Macintosh, and Mikael's voice sounds a lot like Nick Holmes' these days.
Thoughts?

Well, im sure that Katatonia was at least a little bit inspired by Paradise Lost...for they are the flag bearers for that sound id say. But yes, Katatonia gets my vote over PL too.

No fucking way! Gothic is a masterpiece, so is Shades of God. If PL wouldn't have existed, Katatonia maybe wouldn't have either. At least their sound would've been different! PL wins IMO

Sabbath is to Opeth, as Paradise lost is to Katatonia...but im sure most of the people on this fanboy purged forum would take Opeth before Sabbath. Am i right? :Smug:
