I say good for them.

Some claim it's the end of the world for labels, but I disagree. They won't be making money like they used to, but underground and upcoming bands will still need a way to promote their stuff to get to this point, if they ever do.

Right. There's a good chance they'll be making a lot more if they go down the NIN/Radiohead route!

And the second of your sentence there is very much true. They are the kind of band who can allow themselves to cut out the middle man because they're so damn well established.

Even if they put it out the traditional way and loose a noticeable amount of sales due to lack of promotion, it will probably still pay off because the margins will be sooo much bigger.

Ahh... I just realized that you meant the label, not the band... well, it's true anyway. :lol:
