hey chris and anyone else

i have bought a digitech death metal pedal.when i tried it i sounded very good and heavy.its digitech's heaviest pedal right. but i am not really shure of wether i bought the right pedal.
its heavy and stuff but its missing something...the punch.

people say that the pedal is good thru a tube amp like the peavey 6505

i donnoo

any recomendations or advice

well, you have to look at the settings of your amp. lows and highs tend to make the notes stick out and attack really well, while mids tend to round the ntoes out and make them smoother (i use alot of sweeping and tend to keep my mids very high). the death metal pedal is great. Its about 4 on the list of things i am looking to buy (a ibanez rg1527 or an s2170se, line6 spider cab, i cant rememebr the amp head model, death metal pedal, the new blackout 2 pickup for my rr3) so instead of lookign around for new gear, play around with your amp head a little bit

You need to and some mids back into your sound. mids will give your sound body and the punch will come back. Listen to Lamb Of God's tone full of mids and the sound cuts thru the mix. I think some gain pedals tend to give you that scooped sound and it can dissapear in a band situation.
