"We're sorry to say that after 5 years together, we're parting ways with PelleK. It's a mutual decision that has been on the horizon for quite some time. Per Fredrik has a lot going on in his life and simply can't commit the amount of time that we require from him. As things with the band get busier and busier, we need someone who can commit a serious amount of time to the band, and Per Fredrik simply can't fulfill this duty. We remain friends out of the band and wish him all the best for the future.
So we plan on doing the Iron Maiden 2 album singer trick...it's time to find our Bruce Dickinson! The search for our new singer begins now, we're searching worldwide with no limits. Anyone from anywhere can apply. Simply click this link to download an instrumental version of one of our tracks and send us a link to you singing it on youtube.

I'm thinking the decision was forced on him,to put the side stuff to the side or he will be replaced,as he was holding up tours and stuff('m sure a few in the industry can conform/deny tours and shows ans such)....
But,seriously,if I had that gift,was in that band,and just was part of this album with what is in this band's potential future,I drop everything and put 100% into D.A...

This is such a bummer. Maybe all that YouTube/iTunes stuff is what's paying Pellek's bills, but the two Damnation Angels albums he did are his best works.

He's a youtube sensation, which gets you a ton of work. He's also now singing for video game tracks with Square Enix.
Tell me why staying with a metal band who is demanding more time away from your currently successful marketing brand for a far, far less return is a good idea for either party. I'm sad he's not doing DA stuff anymore and it kind of sucks that he's dropping right after a release, but let's face it, this makes sense.
Looking at his web site, it isn't just his singing side jobs, but also acting jobs as well.
I guess we can all be disappointed that DA needs to move forward without him and that he chooses not to give up all of these things for the band, but given his passions, why should he? I'd rather he do what he really wants to do. Both decisions are understandable, if disappointing to us fans.

The DA stuff is WAY better than his solo work. I think he just wants to be a star and that's not going to happen with DA. Just my two cents...

I have no problems with either party wanting to pursue their interests, but I cannot think of worse timing for this. It is hard to promote a new album and build on the momentum of their debut without a singer.

Wow! I totally missed this post! I thought the new Damnation Angels disc was a nice step forward for the band. I hope they can find somebody even half as good as Pelle K. Such a bummer!
