randomly stumbled upon this Russian band on their label, Stygian Crypt.

it's ostensibly progressive death, but of a very whimsical, jazzy, keyboard-heavy variety. Sounds like Cynic playing the soundtrack to a Final Fantasy or Castlevania game. also similar to elements of Dream Theater, early Yyrkoon, Arcturus and the orchestral pieces on Yellow Submarine.

I tracked down the album (Anamorphosis of Dreams) and I'm enjoying it. It's been awhile since I've found something to really focus on, and this is definitely not your same-old same-old.

They sound a little too frenetic for my liking..although some of it was ok....prog metal stuff can get woefully boring and overdone at times....I prefer good melodies that are simple, good and hooky...riotous goblety-gook metal is grating and anoying to me most of the time anywaz.......but that's just me...
