I like Phish. Their happy parts are annoying, but they do alot of innovative improv and get pretty dark and funky at parts. They're one of those bands which you have to see live to appreciate. I don't really listen to them any more, but they're a good band.

I've heard a lot of Phish, as my brother used to be very much into them years ago and I used to hang out with several people very much into Phish. Their music is too mellow for my taste, but they are undeniably good musicians. Yeah, I hate their happy sounding parts, but they have some pretty cool instrumental passages in some of their songs.
