Whats funny is, in the movie, they are not really cowboys. They are watching over sheep! Then they got fired in the beginning, so they were no longer even sheep boys, through the whole movie. And the one could not hold a job to save himself, and the other married a rich woman. So they didn't get to pork each other all that much really.

I agree, they weren't even cowboys. I'll admit, I love that movie! However "gay" it is. And the score is so beautiful. I am such a sap, it's such a great story. I guess I am predisposed to loving that movie, since I am a HUGE Annie Proulx freak, and she wrote the short story. Woops!

And I agree, to some degree... they both abandonned their responsibilities, and acted like assholes. So I stand by my liking the movie so much because the short story is much less dull. But the movie isn't dull, read the story. It's excellent.

To but review the movie once again: It's beautifully shot, scored and rendered - but the characters lack a certain animation at times. Nonetheless, I never questioned their love for each other, and I do love the film. Whether or not the sex scene was even required is a whole other debate.

I cry at the end every time I watch it. It certainly is not a happy movie, despite the butt sex. Hahha! I got Alex to watch it and he thought it was a good story.
