Picked up the new Candlemass EP

...and it's great. Really, it's more like an album, since there are 12 songs on it in all. 2 new ones, 1 re-recorded (Demons Gate from Epicus...) and 9 live songs. Pretty cool, and the new songs are great. Also, just read on Blabbermouth that the new full length is complete and ready for May '09 release. Not soon enough, but I'll have to wait.

Robert Lowe is really sounding better and better with them to my ear. I think they are writing more with him in mind now, or maybe it's just because he's so damned great! ha. Anyway, he also sounds great singing the older stuff (including the 'newer' older stuff like Black Dwarf).

The EP is called Lucifer Rising.

I really gotta buy this, loved King of the Grey Islands. There's some clips from the upcoming album at http://www.myspace.com/nuclearblasteurope and they sound very promising indeed.
Ditching Messiah and picking Lowe was one of the best moves Edling has ever done in his career.

The EP is indeed very good, is nice to listen to a setlist of both classics and new material, and of course they play ' Of Stars And Smoke' which is my favorite tune from KOTGI.

I really didn't like this or KOTGI. I'm a massive Solitude Aeturnus fan and Lowe is amazing but i really feel that Lief isn't putting much effort into the songwriting anymore. He used to write such an amazing lyrics and now it's just sort of meaningless sounding now.

The re-recording of Demons Gate is disappointing too.
