pickup problems.

here's the deal.

i got my DiMarzio Evolution in a week ago. after installing it I noticed that i wasn't geting much gain. there was far to much feedback and I wasn't geting any sustain. plus the harmonics were inaudable. after working on it for 2 days, i gave up and sent it to the local guitar store to have it professionally repaired. the guy said it was fine, but when i got it home, it was no better. any ideas?

What amp/gear you using?

Tried setting it further away or closer to the strings, how tense are the strings?

they're 11 gagues. ive moved distance from the strings around several times. and I'm just running it strait through a mg100. which works fine with my other guitar. as i said the neck sounds fine.
