I live in Portland, OR, USA

very expansive city...in the shadow of a mountain

pioneer courthouse square.....right in the center of downtown...generally the square is so packed full of people you wouldn't see half of any of the stuff in this picture

portland is also known as a hippie town...we have the most strip clubs per capita in the country....if not all of north america....and we probably have just as many protests over every damn little issue
it sucks...last protest we had, a bunch of hippies took over a mall and refused to leave

I am in love with this thread! This was a great idea!! My hometown isn't nearly as glamorous as some of the pictures posted; but I do enjoy living here.

I live in Crown Point, Indiana:

The Crown Point Courthouse, built in 1878. This is the site of a yearly "marriage mill" - couples line up down the block in early June to receive wedding vows. Some past celebrities include Muhammed Ali, Ronald Reagan, and Rudolph Valentino.

The Lake County Sheriff's House - built in 1882. A large jail was built onto the property in the 1920's - the same jail which John Dillinger made his daring escape in 1934.

...and was then filled full of lead by the Chicago PD in front of this theater building in Chicago (bang bang!)
