Pilot crashed plane into IRS building in Austin, TX

Americans are constantly brainwashed, they're living in "the land of the free" "the land of opportunity" And are being terrorised constantly by their own government to keep everyone scared and obedient, allowing to government to pass laws that wouldn't ever get through otherwise.

Either you're on the top getting rich through exploitation of those on the bottom, or you're on the bottom getting exploited to make those on the top rich.

Its called the "American Dream" for a reason,
you gotta be asleep to believe it.

If you're bringing evil into it, sure I believe the IRS is unnecessary and evil in its twisted codes that even their own people don't understand... and we are expected to abide by these codes. Codes that infringe on our basic right to what is ours.

Whaaaat? Do you like the freeway system, police officers, public schooling, the fire department, etc? Did you/will you use these systems? Since you undoubtedly answered 'yes' to both questions, suck it up and pay your taxes like everyone else.

It's not 'ours' or 'yours' - it's what the government allows you to have while giving you a place to live, protection of your property & certain rights, and opportunities to prosper in a free economy (and a ton of other shit you would not be able to have/do in an anarchical society). If you don't like the rules the government requires you to follow when you choose to live in this country, as Egan stated so well, move.

I have a lot of opinions about all of this and some of the asinine things posted here, but I'll sum it up with this. If there is anything about the US government that is fucked up enough to warrant killing over you would save a lot of people (including your family) a lot of grief by simply moving. For a couple grand you can live under just about any available government.

The US is still the most free country around, though that's like being the healthiest patient in the cancer ward...

there we go:kickass:

Good catch :kickass:

i like to know what kind of world you live in where every dollar spent in taxes goes exactly where it should, and that the IRS and government do not wastefully spend it on their personal interests.

We both know, especially living in CA, how fucking retarded the spending of our tax dollars goes. I'm not trying to argue that.

I'm trying to argue his claim that the IRS is an 'evil' organization - they have no part in the spending of our tax dollars, they just collect them.

When I don't like how my tax dollars are being spent, I write my congressmen, senators, legislators, etc... and fucking VOTE.

I'm not about to say that our country is perfect - far from it. But seriously guys, consider the alternative.

And for fucks sake, read some Hobbes and Hayek.

It would be a vicious cycle. Lets say people who are pissed do do something and make a change, take over, revolt, what ever. Who to say they won't fall into the greed of the might dollar and do the same thing as before. Don't know, but for some reason the funny line from Planet of the Apes, "The only good human is a dead human!" Money will make people do the craziest things.

The IRS doesn't fund any of those things, which are mostly funded by the States anyway (as they should be). The IRS was created for only one reason: to pay interest on the national debt from the creation of the Federal Reserve. And what free economy? The only real free economy I'm aware of is the internet and thet'll be regulated soon enough with net neutrality.

Yes, but these things are (and supposed to be) determined by state government, not Federal. I have no problems paying state taxes. I do have a problem paying federal taxes.

The federal government has overstepped it bounds and continues to... fighting wars unnecessarily, stepping into markets and controlling what they want therein... this is not something I'm content on paying with money essentially stolen from my wages.

The economy is not free... we haven't had a truly free market in decades.

If you're content to just sit there and accept "rules", however unjust, that are doled out to you by people and groups that dont care what goes on nor about ethics so long as they can make a quick buck, be my guest but please dont lump me into your camp by telling me, essentially, that I should leave if I dont like it. That kind of thinking doesn't help anyone.

and how effective is that exactly?

If those actions actually changed anything they would be made illegal.

Vicious cycle indeed. I think that at the end of this thread, everyone who posted will still think the same way...so I'm calling it pointless for anything other than back-handedly bashing each other.

Agreed

+1, which is why the last thing I'm going to say here is:

If you don't like it, fine - be a decent member of society and strive to change it in a productive manner that isn't abrasive or harmful to your fellow citizens.

If you can't do that and are hell bent on making it a pain in the ass for the rest of us, gtfo.

Those who are comparing this guy to a muslim are talking out of their ass imo. Muslims are blowing the shit out of the country for no reason other than religious bullshit that has been warped beyond all recognition by others..

1. that sounds dangerously general

2. Muslims are blowing people up because of religious bullshit, fuelled by the horrendous western exploitation of their countries. Seriously, we pay for their hideous dictatorships and then blow the shit out of them. If that was my country I think I'd probably be pissed enough to go blow up a train/plane/building, irrelevant of religion or anything else. I don't condone their actions, I think it's completely wrong, but i understand where it comes from, the same as I do with this guy.

hopefully, just hopefully, this even will allow Americans to read this letter with a grain of salt, and maybe they too might see exactly what is really going on.

Its already in motion, look at South Carolina passing the law to require any person who identifies with the desire to overthrow the government to register as a terrorist. They are beginning to squirm because the people are waking up from the oppression, and just maybe the letter will act as yet another catalyst.

My thread on this subject may not have been clear enough, but that law is actually Red Scare-era. You know, you're going to have to start fact-checking someday...

I imagine this is going to be all over the news tonight.

doubt it

any sign of dissent, or of dissatisfaction with status quo as set by our current system of corporate governance, is swept under the rug by media conglomerates

this might get, at most, a passing mention on your local news channel, but with no mention of the letter or his intent. if they do mention them, they'll make sure to make him sound like your typical murderous nutjob.
