lets see i have been playing guitar for about a year now and i like to play older metal like savatage and riot and theres no tabs to some songs so does any one know any ideas on how to get an almost exact sound by playing by ear?

It takes time, you just have to do it and except that there will be some wrong notes but with each day you work on it you will get it better and more exact. I am surprised that there aren't any tabs for some of those songs though, I would go over to Ultimate guitar tabs and check there.
