What do you think of Through The Ashes Of Empires?

Its a very strong record on their part. I would have gone with something a little heavier, but I don't think they had enough time with Demmel to accomplish what they needed to..... next record should be even better.

I voted The best Machine Head since.....The More Things Change. I really like the record as well. It's heavy, melodic, dynamic, and has feeling unlike Supercharger.

MACHINE HEAD: Storming The European Charts - Nov. 7, 2003

In its first week of release overseas, MACHINE HEAD's new album, "Through The Ashes Of Empires", has stormed its way onto the charts, entering the German Media Control Top 100 at #24 (selling more copies in its first week than the group's previous album, "Supercharger", has sold to date), Sweden's Midweek Chart at #32, Austria's Album Chart at #58, the Dutch Mega Top 100 Album Chart at #65, the UK Album Charts at #77 (#7 on the Rock Chart), the Swiss National Album Sales Chart at #80, and the Danish Album Chart at #82. In Belgium, "Through The Ashes Of Empires" hit #68 in the Flemish Charts, #75 in the Walloon Charts and #66 on the Belgian Charts.

MACHINE HEAD are currently seeking a North American record deal following their recent split with the U.S. branch of Roadrunner Records. The band kicked off a European headlining tour on October 31 in Dublin, Ireland.

Best since TMTC. There are 2 or 3 songs I'm not real crazy about, but overall there is some killer material including some of their best stuff. They're definitely on the right track, headed in the right direction. Robb's grown as a lyricist on this one too.

It's not what I expected, but it's a step in the right direction. Some songs esp. Left Unfinished still have the traces of crappy The Burning Red grooves. The 2nd half of the Imperium is very good thrash. If the WHOLE album was like this, I would give it a higher rating but for now all I can give this album is 5/10 or 6/10.

Now that Phil Demmel is in this band, they should get their shit together and write a FULL-ON THRASH METAL album, cuz Phil didn't get a chance to write a new Vio-Lence album.

I'm on the fence about getting this disc, based on the reviews. If this isn't a full-on thrash CD...I can accept that, but not if I have to wade through Burning Red grooves...

Help convince this metalhead it's worth it! I don't have anything post-burning red -- I only have BME to compare against (aside from burning red). I see there is no option on the poll to rate this one equal with BME...Hmmmmm.

IMHO new album isnt better than MH`s debut and sophomore-album but it`s very close to those 2 LPs. I`m telling it after listening to it for a week. So TTAOE might be even higher in my personal MH ranking. Time will show.
I voted for 3rd opportunity.
