Victims of clerical sex abuse have reacted furiously to Pope Benedict's claim yesterday that paedophilia wasn't considered an “absolute evil” as recently as the 1970s.

In his traditional Christmas address yesterday to cardinals and officials working in Rome, Pope Benedict XVI also claimed that child pornography was increasingly considered “normal” by society.

“In the 1970s, paedophilia was theorised as something fully in conformity with man and even with children,” the Pope said.

Nothing new, actually. The pope (directly and indirectly by the church system) allows pederasts to continue working. In Spain, when the people know the truth and go to kill him, the church takes the priest to another town in the opposite corner of the country and no one notices.
 
What annoys me is the media reffering to any story concerning pedophilia related to the church as a "revelation"

People have been making jokes about catholics being pedophiles for ever, it's not exactly news or a shock, it is widely KNOWN about.
