faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaags. Someone's been watching black metal music vids then stealing their mothers make up and trying it for themselves.

Well, being reaaaally open minded, the idea of some melted pop-style singing over metal music could be a good idea. Too bad they just fail at being so gay.

Well, we say they are gay, but no doubt 1/10 of the feminine population of myspace will get wet for them.

My contribution of "acceptable pop" :

Early In Flames + Dir En Grey + Nikki Sixx. Funny enough, the lead singer calls himself "Andy Six." Good thing they list their legal team right on their MySpace page.

I figure there will always be entry level metal out there for teens to get into, at least the guitar playing was halfway decent on this. Quite a big budget behind this it seems, Blasko is managing them, etc. I've never seen an American band attempt the visual kei image to this extent, this is hours in the makeup chair.

I used to be cynical about this stuff, but after all, the bands that got me into metal as a kid were Def Leppard, Extreme, Winger, etc... everyone has to start somewhere and it's usually more mainstream and image-driven. It doesn't mean that it can't be good in its own way. Eventually, anyone who spends enough time getting into the style will figure out who the roots are for various different styles and subgenres.

mainstream in metal aways existed, but even if you get like Black Sabbath, one of the most "accessible" bands back then, it was still, IMO a very honest music, not really the thematic itself, but the sound. This days everyone is making music for the sake or their 15 mins of fame. And by music, i mean crap
