Let's hear some metal with a positive message! Songs about brotherhood, overcoming adversity, vanquishing the darkness, justice, determination, hope, ...love (gasp).

Can be of any genre as long as it has an uplifting, strong, upbeat but NOT "gayish-happy" aura. Maximum headbangability is a MUST.

Bethlehem's Dictius Te Necare is a really upbeat and positive album. I think you'll like it.

A bit too poppy for many people here, so listen with an open mind. Great power metal with lyrics about confidence and nonconformity, and some other subjects.

They also have two official videos, but that song is like their classic. You can download most of their songs for free on their website, but they've also released three commercial albums.

If you want to hear some of the most catchy and upbeat melodies ever, check out Equilibrium. Their new album Sagas was just released, and it's fucking gloriously epic as hell.

If you're looking for cool upbeat power metal, I'd say give the following bands a try:

Manowar
Sabaton (all their songs are about warfare; definitely all vanquishing darkness and brotherhood and shit )
Freedom Call (these guys might be too cheesy for you; very little headbanging ability; but still, they embody all the aspects you asked for)
Turisas (check out the song "To Holmgard and Beyond" on youtube)
