possible european tour supporting iced earth.

well, DT fits better into this antidote tour than into iced earth shows. I used to like IE(barlow) but Ive heard the new recordings of the 3 something wicked... songs. oh no. goodbye iced earth.
äh welcome DT. I think Caliban will headline in germany, followed by DT and soilwork and opener sonic syndicate(does anyone knows these folks?)

For what it's worth, Iced Earth are a good live band in my opinion. I like their live album "Alive in Athens" a lot. I dont know much of their studio albums, but the songs I heard I found boring. Their latest studio album must be one of the worst albums ever recorded.. an entire album thick with patriotic bullshit :yuk:
But like I said, I consider Iced Earth a good live band and I enjoyed their show in Wacken quite a bit. They did some of the old stuff as well and I was very positively surprised, the new singer, Tim Owens does quite a good job there. Im not sure if DT and IE go well together, but I think I'll be enjoying them a second time as well :)

...and opener sonic syndicate(does anyone knows these folks?)

my impression (from radio play only, thence probably their most "commercial" songs) is incredibly generic semi-extreme metal with as-cathcy-as-possible choruses (enter clean vocals). think a somewhat more "american sounding" recent soilwork, and you're not too far away.

That's pretty much what I was told as well. It seems like Nuclear Blast is pushing them, which is why they got the spot on the True Metal stage in Wacken. A very generic, average Soilwork clone with a hot chick in the front spot.

Iced Earth are one of the few good American metal bands. Agreed LRBH, I don't think they're power metal either.

:)

Yeah, IE is basically Heavy/Thrash :) :p .

o_O is it already leaked? Crap, I was really hoping it would be a good album, but sadly enough, more :puke: crap.

Since Barlow became a policeman IE went down the drain. Totally. I'm a huge IE fan, and IE is at its best with Barlow. He's in Pyramaze now anyway hehehe  :headbang: :kickass: .

Ah yäah wilkommen DT ( :p ).

She plays bass. And she's not very hot.

the ep with the re-recordings is actually released. they are crap, though.
however, the album itself has leaked but contains a gazillion voice-overs which put me off. the two or three songs i got through sounded ok but not more. definitely better than glorious burden, for what that's worth...

yeah I was talking about the ep. I would not say they ruined 3 of the best IE songs, but the originals were much better. I dont know if the new album is leaked, I dont care. Ill give it an ear when its out. and thx for the words about this sonic syndicate.who needs a soilwork clone?
