possible job offer: drum editing

Muhahaha! That drummer is real wuss - that gravity blast attempt is really weak.

EDIT: It took half day to figure out how to get midi track from that cunt drummer, cuz even click seems to be cut wrong. For time I'll compile midi track it will be my secret how to get it.
That drummer know how to fuck up great studio recording (in my opinion), if those drum tracks are unedited.

UPDATE: sent PM with my midi tracking!

hey guys,

sorry it took me a while, but i've been on the road playing a small tour.

anyways: nezvers, thank you for the effort, but i wasn't looking for audio to midi conversion, but audio editing.
actually, i wonder if anyone else checked this out? if so, do you think this can be salvaged?
otherwise i'll go and program the drums together with the drummer, but i'll have to talk to the band about it. they're shooting for something like this, maybe a bit more natural:

i'm not sure if that's just sample replaced as fuck, or if it's actually programmed drums too.

Sounds at least replaced. I downloaded the files to check it out, I would not even waste time trying to fix that, just go with programming, IMO.

I just checked out the tracks quickly, and unfortunately it does sound like your best option would be to just program the drums. Some parts are completely workable, but others are simply too much off. Try to bring it up in a polite and diplomatic matter, though :)

Congratulations, Sir, you have just won The Most Professional Post Of The Year Award. I'll add you to my list of audio engineers I should work with in case I wanted my clients to be called "real wusses" and "cunts" and accused of "fucking up a great studio recording" on a public forum. Good job, broseph!

ok, update time:

i had a talk with the band, and they don't want to go down the programmed drums route.
they told me that when playing back the tracks together with the scratch guitars it ain't *THAT* bad, and it doesn't have to be über tight anyways. if i edited out the worst mistakes and made the kick sound halfway decent things would be fine.

i told them that it's actually those "worst mistakes" that make the whole thing basically uneditable, i'll have to wait and see what happens.

btw, regarding programming: the drummer would actually be fine with it, as long as i use his own snare sound.....well, what would otherwise be no problem is pretty much impossible right here, because they didn't grab samples off the kit like i told them beforehand. i'd have to use some "dirty" samples with cymbal bleed etc....not exactly a great idea imho.

Well, he'd only have to setup the snare and something like an SM57 to take snare-samples. Could be done in like 30 minutes or so. Why not just tell them to do it now?

probably not the worst idea to meet them at their rehearsal space and grab multisamples of the whole kit.....it won't be the exact same sound as they already recorded, but it would be his own kit....didn't think about that, stupid me :D :D thanks for the heads up, sometimes i love captain obvious ;) ;)
