just curious if anyone knew what Kim Thayil was doing since Soundgarden broke up. Listened to Ultramega OK earlier and it reminded me of how much I loved their early stuff (up to and including Badmotorfinger)- very Sabbathy

Well, I haven't heard much from him, but I recently came across the Boris/SunnO))) split album "Altar", which has Kim Thayil contributing some guitar work on the track "Blood Swamp". Whether or not he's currently in a band of his own or was since the Soundgarden split, I couldn't say.

He played additional guitar on a few tracks on Dave Grohl's Probot album. Other than that I don't know
