"You just never share your feelings with me anymore, and... Wait, why is that retard staring at us?"

Have prog changed your way of thinking? Added a new dimension to your world view? Share your story. When I first discovered prog (the genre as a whole, not just one or two bands), I was going through a phase of being really narrow-minded. Everything was a straight line. Everything had to be one way only. I couldn't accept any varieties. If anything didn't go the way I wanted, I wouldn't be able to adapt, so I'd often end up failing to do anything.

And then came prog metal! It made me realize there are a lot of possibilities in life. Things don't have to be one way; there are many other ways that also work. I can be more specific. "The Sham Mirrors" by Arcturus had these crazy keyboard parts that made me feel like I was in space, and I could travel to any direction with great freedom and high velocity. "The Universal Migrator" by Ayreon taught me that the universe has a way of resetting the balance, if one plan fails, another plan will be initiated (in the album's story, the old migrator dies, the new migrator is born). And It was Dream Theater that affected me the most. They set me on FIRE. Before discovering prog, I was in that state of stagnation. I would spend hours not doing anything at all. Dream Theater changed all of this. They set me in a state of "Constant Motion". Whenever I was hesitating about what to do next, the non-stop stream of Rudess/Petrucci solos came to mind. I had to keep moving, keep doing things, just like their fingers had to keep hitting the notes. I eventually became able to adapt to different scenarios and accomplish varying tasks, just like their hands could play a variety of musical styles and would rarely hit the wrong notes. Without prog I don't know what I'd be like now. Prog changed my life.

hahaha i clicked on one of the not fully queer looking ones, Wretched. apparently the phrase, "new take on old school thrash metal" actually means "standard trendy deathcore"

good to know
