Post Your cd Haul 2005?

Steve Vai - Real Illusions: Reflections
Strapping Young Lad - Alien
Sun Ra - The Futuristic Sounds Of Sun Ra
Stratovarius - Visions

I got those from Barnes & Nobles, in part with a gift card. Unfortunately.....I got the free shipping, and everything has to be shipped together. So since 'Alien' doesn't come out until the 22nd, they won't be shipped until then. So since I'll be seeing Steve Vai live before then, I went ahead and downloaded the album.....first time I've ever done that. It's sounding great. I'm sure the ballad is his best yet, because of the brilliant orchestration in addition to the guitar.

Beyond The Embrace - Insect Song.

Good melodeath band with metalcore vocals. I saw them live at the Amorphis/Into Eternity/Beyond The Embrace/Single Bullet Theory show.

Waiting for these to arrive.

Altar/Cartilage - Ex Oblivione / The Fragile Concept of Affection
Fester - Winter of Sin

Cirith Ungol - King Of The Dead
Mercyful Fate - The Beginning
Nocturnal Breed - Tools Of The Trade
Prime Evil - Unearthed
Sacrifice - Apocalypse Inside

Heh....here comes my big birthday money and other various money things purchase. A bunch of things are for Prog-Power bands, the first seven to be exact. I guess I'm really stocking up on prog here. I would've gotten Macabre's 'Murder Metal' as my other death thing, but it wasn't in at The End Records unfortunately.

Manticora - 8 Deadly Sins
Stratovarius - Visions
Stratovarius - Episode
Orphaned Land - Mabool
Conception - Parallel Minds
Therion - Lemuria/Sirius B
Angra - Temple Of Shadows
Strapping Young Lad - Alien
Spastic Ink - Ink Compatible
Martyr - Warp Zone
Devin Townsend - Terria
Devin Townsend - Accelerated Evolution
Pain Of Salvation - The Perfect Element
Pain Of Salvation - Remedy Lane
Fantomas - Fantomas
Dream Theater - Six Degrees Of Inner Turbulence
Atrox - Terrestrials
Steve Vai - Real Illusions: Reflections
Sun Ra - The Futuristic Sounds Of Sun Ra
John Coltrane - Giant Steps

And when I get my gift certificate from The End Records from their special, I'll probably get 'In Harmonia Universali' by Solefald. Or Murder Metal if it's in then.

The God Macabre was re-issued by relapse, so almost most labels specializing in underground metal are likely to have it.

Dark Recollections has been released by Earache meaning it wouldn’t be to difficult to find.

I’m not too sure about the other ones but try searching through either Gemm or Musicstack .

I got the Baptism through www.supernalmusic.com and the Necromantia through trade.

As for Swedish death metal recommendations(or similar sounding), check out these:

Carbonized - For The Security (No idea where to find this)
Cemetary - An Evil Shade of Grey (Redstream should have it)
Crypt of Kerberos - World Of Myths (Best bet is to download)
Epitaph - Seeming Salvation (See above)
Excruciate - Passage Of Life ( Recently re-released with early demos, available as Beyond The Circle at redstream)
Funebre - Children Of the Scorn (Redstream, Supernal)
Gorement - The Ending Quest (If you find a place to buy it, tell me!)
Lemming Project - Hate And Despise (This is seemingly easy to find second hand, try www.metaldisc.com as well)
Leeming Project - Extinction
Mega Slaughter - Calls From the Beyond (Fucking crushing Swedish death, similar to Grave. Unfortunately out of print)
Morpheus - Son of Hypnos
Seance - Saltrubbed Eyes (Both Seance albums are available at Black Mark, both rule a lot)
Seance - Fornever Laid to Rest
Torchure - Beyond The Veil
Uncanny - Splenium For Nyktophobia (Out of print, best chance is secondhand/download)
Utumno - Across The Horizon (See above, although I managed to find it)
Wombbath - Internal Caustic Torments

That Liers In Wait EP is ridiculously good.

And I'll second www.musicstack.com . It's a great place to find rare and out of print albums.
