Post your first demos & oldies

Unfortunately I don't have any of the songs of the first recording I ever did. The guitarist of the band took them off the internet and sadly died some years later. I guess I might have them on some old backup HDD though.

Here's the second real recording I ever did, though. Done in a garage (was still living with my parents back then) with a laptop running Reaper 2.something, a Presonus Fp10 and some cheap mics. Glyn Johns micing on the drums, otherwise pretty basic stuff. No click, the guitarist played with a Pod to the drummers ears when we tracked drums, and we overdubbed the guitars later with a Tiny Terror and a Framus 2x12" v30 cabinet. I did the bass with an Ibanez 6-string BTB and the gray Behringer Sansamp copy. Mixed only with Reaper's own plugins and some freeware stuff. I still kind of dig the lo-fi feel and the ambience this has. No editing anywhere, not even punch-in's. I didn't even know how.

This is from '99 or 2000-ish I think? Yeah I was programming drums and bass for my own music then, just like now haha. Except then it was a shitty Zoom drum machine and a Boss BR-8 disc recorder. No editing on that fucker! Still it was a massive step up from the 4 track cassette portastudio I started out with...

Songwriting is pretty abysmal, but still some cool ideas in there (obviously since I pillaged some of these riffs for Divinity / ENDITOL songs later on).

That was fun to go and listen to my old crap again, good thread idea!
