Poweramp reuse

I really hope my question is not too stupid, but who knows

I'm thinking about getting a new preamp, but I do not own any guitaramp rack equipment, therefore I don't have a separate poweramp. All I have is my good old ENGL Special Edition.

Is it possible for me to use the ENGL's poweramp with a different preamp?! Maybe via the FX return?! What about impendance issues?!

Yes, you could run any kind of preamp into the return of your amp...
But what other preamp do you need when you have an SE

machbar und definitv günstiger als ein sp 77 ^^

Mit der SLO Vorstufe ja, der sp77 hingegen ist abgewandelt... Also für den SLO Sound ist dieser Preamp die günstigste Methode

btw an on-topic question. If I have a processor with amp modeling like a POD or a V-amp, It would do the same function as a preamp right? I can plug it into the return of the fx loop of a combo amp/head amp. But wouldn't there be any volume issues? I plug my v-amp into the CD in of my small 15w amp and it works fine but the volume is controlled directly on the v-amp, the volume of the amp doesn't affect it, and I fear it could go higher in volume than it does with the master volume on the v-amp. Anyone ever had any trouble with that, or am I just delusional?
